The Cambridge kids just made their red carpet debut! Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis looked festive as they joined their parents, Prince William and Kate, for a surprise appearance at London's Palladium Theatre this evening, marking the first public event the royal children have attended in months. Tonight's pantomime performance was put on to thank essential workers (including NHS staff, delivery drivers, trash collectors, emergency services staff, charity workers, and volunteers) and their families, for all their "phenomenal efforts this year."

"It is the least we could do to thank you for everything you do—day in, day out—to keep our country safe and look after those who need help the most," Prince William said in a speech before the event.

For their walk on the red carpet, Princess Charlotte wore a plaid dress paired with black tights while Prince George sported a striped Ralph Lauren sweater.

Ever the youngest child, Prince Louis's sweet blue coat is actually a hand-me-down from his older brother Prince George.

Kate chose a festive frock from Alessandra Rich for the occasion, but unfortunately it's all sold out already.

Inside the event, William and Kate spoke with Dom Warren, the founder of Doms Food Mission, an organization which feeds those who are hungry, before heading in to the performance.

Before the show, Prince William gave a speech thanking the audience of frontline workers. "You have given your absolute all this year, and made remarkable sacrifices," he said. "So too have your families, who I’m sure have seen far less of you than they would have liked. It’s lovely that you are all here together tonight."

He also paid tribute to Dame Barbara Windsor, the famous pantomime entertainer who passed away at the age of 83 last evening.

"Before I go on, I want to pause and pay tribute to a true national treasure, Dame Barbara Windsor, who so sadly passed away last night. She was a giant of the entertainment world, and of course a legend on pantomime stages across the country including here at the London Palladium. And I know we’ll all miss her hugely," William said.
